Android routing guide

Per-app routing for Android

Per-app routing lets you choose which Android apps use each dedicated route. Apps and sites you assign can use their own dedicated routes. Apps and sites you do not assign use a shared dedicated route.

Why assign one app instead of everything?

One app may need its own route location while other apps do not. Per-app routing keeps the rule close to the app that needs it, while unassigned apps use the shared dedicated route.

What you can do in Secureferry

  • Assign selected Android apps to a dedicated route.
  • Keep app assignments scoped to the route where they were added.
  • Keep unassigned apps on the shared dedicated route.
  • Review assigned apps from the route manifest.
  • Disable an app assignment without deleting the route.
  • Use route maps and checkpoints to organize routing decisions.

Example workflow

  1. Open Secureferry.
  2. Create or choose a route.
  3. Open the route manifest.
  4. Select the Android app to assign.
  5. Review the assigned apps list.
  6. Confirm unassigned apps remain on the shared dedicated route.
  7. Activate the route when needed.
  8. Pause or disable routing when finished.

Trust notes for app assignments

App assignments are based on user configuration. Secureferry's Privacy Policy states that customs clearance for apps or domains is not used to track app usage.
